Beijing, China, April 15-Premier Li Keqiang pointed out in the 2015 government work report: Develop an "Internet +" action plan to promote the integration of mobile Internet, cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, etc. with modern manufacturing, promote e-commerce, Industrial Internet and Internet finance have developed healthily. To grow into a digital, interconnected enterprise, a good foundation for digital commerce, cloud services, social media and digital marketing, big data analysis, and Internet of Things (loT) information flow must be needed, and the data center is the company's digital One of the important foundations of business transformation.

As Gartner analysts said, while integrating social, mobile, cloud and big data information as a "focus point", related technologies including the "third platform" are crucial. In a series of predictions about data centers in 2015, IDC predicts that by 2016, 65% of data center infrastructure investments will be migrated to third-party platform systems instead of maintaining traditional data center operations.

As we all know, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, mobile social and big data are disruptive forces driving the transformation of data centers. In short, the data center needs to change rapidly. So, what are the driving factors behind this change? Four major factors are summarized as follows:

Disruptive technologies: The use of technologies such as big data and the Internet of Things (and the monetization associated with these technologies) will increase rapidly, and data centers must maintain flexibility and reliability when facing these new demands, and therefore face new pressure. According to Gartner's prediction, 4.9 billion of assets will become part of the Internet of Things this year. As of 2020, the "things" connected by the Internet of Things will reach 25 billion. These huge numbers seem to be far away from us, but looking at consumer electronics companies that expect to track smart products on the ground, or public utility companies connected to assets by the Internet of Things, there is no doubt that the analysis results of the Internet of Things and big data will be The data center creates tremendous pressure and burden. Therefore, we need greater flexibility and monitoring to support these disruptive technologies.

Support business growth: Whether it is to build a back-end cost center or to seek a new way of business growth, companies need to change their data centers. In some recent IT infrastructure plans, Gartner predicts that consumer mobility in 2017 will drive US mobile commerce to account for 50% of US e-commerce revenue growth. The data center needs to be a booster of this growth, not an obstacle.

Controlling electricity costs: In the past few years, data centers have developed more energy-efficient. Although infrastructure has been adapting to disruptive new technologies, these adaptations and developments must be maintained and improved. Mortenson, a well-known American architecture and design company, found in a recent data center study that when asked about the most desired aspects of data center improvement, the number one answer was "more efficient" and the second was "have better cooling/ Heating system". Data center energy consumption accounts for 2-3% of the world's average energy consumption. Most people believe that controlling energy costs and improving efficiency globally is a key factor.

Compliance: In recent years, data center guidelines and regulations have become more common and strict, such as the "Guidelines on Data Center Construction and Layout" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Other countries also have guidelines on data center efficiency. In 2014, due to concerns about hidden security risks of enterprises, there will be stricter requirements on data center security.

Perhaps there are other factors in the process of promoting the transformation of the data center, but there is no doubt that the above four points are the most important driving forces. The more practical question about these factors is: How should we respond to these development trends?

There are many technical elements that may be part of the transformation of the data center, but from a higher level, what the enterprise needs to do most is to establish a reasonable data center construction system. From the early assessment and planning, to the specific design and construction, to the subsequent verification, operation and maintenance, enterprises must fully consider and weigh the entire life cycle of the data center to effectively promote the successful transformation of the data center. All in all, promoting the transformation of the data center is by no means a one-time effort, and requires the collaborative support of advanced technology and scientific systems.
